Halloween is just around the corner and if your little ones go to a nut-free school, then you’re desperately trying to find healthy and nut-free snacks for Halloween to bring to school.
As a mother who does not struggle with food allergies, it is difficult for me to coordinate and buy healthy and nut-free snacks for Halloween, especially when almost anything that you buy contains nuts or comes from a facility that processes nuts. Also, nut-free schools are very strict when it comes to homemade bake goods and they ask parents to only bring store bought and pre-packaged goodies so the label clearly shows all ingredients.
Kung Fu Baby Boy’s school is a nut-free school and since he has been going there for quite a while, I’ve gathered a few ideas for easy, healthy and nut-free snacks for Halloween.

Ghostly String Cheese
Most kids love string cheese, so take the opportunity to decorate them as ghosts with the help of a permanent marker. This snack is nutritious, economical and comes packaged in individual servings. Perfect for sharing at school!.
Mandarin Jack-O-Lanterns
Fruit bowls are super convenient, low in calories and some brands even have BPA free packaging. I like those that are Non-GMO and are in juice, instead of in syrup because they don’t have that much sugar. GO ahead, pick your favorite fruit bowls (tangerines will be the best) and draw a Jack-o-lantern on top using a permanent marker.
Mummified juice boxes
when it comes to school activities, parents seem to forget the drinks. Save the day with these mummified juice boxes. Buy the boxes of organic juice and wrap them using white plumbing or electrical tape. Give the final touch with googley eyes.
Citrus Jack-o-lanterns
If the mandarin Jack-O-Lanterns are not your thing, then buy a bag of natural and unprocessed mandarins and draw a Jack-O-Lantern on the skin using a permanent marker.
Manzanitas Ninja
The ninja turtles are back and you better take advantage of the exciment they cause on children to give them a delicious green apple with a ninja turtle mask. Easy, simple and absolutely nutritious.
As you can see, healthy and nut-free snacks for Halloween do not have to be difficult, complicated or cost you an arm and a leg.
I love these healthy treats for children this halloween 🙂 Also the safety of not giving out nut treats is a great idea.
Great collection of recipes for Halloween! I know a lot of people who need nut free will appreciate this!
OMG, the apple as a ninja turtle sounds perfect. i’m going to make those for my nephews (they aren’t allergic to nuts, but they would love that as a snack!)
That string cheese is so cute! I love that all of these are simple, yet oh so perfect.
I recently did a post with a lot of these features as well. So nice to give kids variety away from chocolate.

Thanks so much for sharing. Everyone should get treats regardless of allergies.
there are so many kid with nut allergies and some with sever allergies – I don’t even purchase any candy with nuts at all to give out any longer. These are such great options though!!

Que rico !!!!
Offering nut-free snack for Halloween is so important, so that kids with some nut allergies can still feel included in the fun! We’re actually offering non-candy snacks at our house, since we’re taking part in the Teal Pumpkin Project!
A great collection of ideas – I love the string cheese ghost! We are stocking some small toys for the littles, too, in case they have other allergies. I can’t eat wheat or High Fructose Corn Syrup … so we try and accommodate those kids, too.
Excelente, muchas gracias por compartirlo, realmente útil, saludos.
It must be so difficult for families with nut allergies to enjoy Halloween when you have to worry about the candy being handed out.
